A standard patio slider has more than thirty moving parts. When one wears out the whole door feels dead — and at that point it is easy to be told the only answer is a full replacement. Usually it isn't. Worn rollers, a mushroomed track rail, a keeper plate out of alignment: all of it is serviceable without touching the frame, at a fraction of the cost.
We recommend replacement only when the frame itself is genuinely gone, and we say so plainly when that's the case. The rest of the time we fix it, usually in the same visit, because the common rollers, tracks and locks are already on the truck.
